Flu Vaccination Update

Flu Vaccinations Update 19th October 2020

As of today we have now used all of our allocation of flu vaccination supplies for the over 65 year olds.

The practice is currently working to secure further supplies and would ask patients to regularly check the website with updates.

We have limited supplies of under 65 year old flu vaccinations for patients who have comorbidities.

The practice continues to be open and we have taken measures to ensure your safety. Our team are already putting plans in place to be able to safely administer the flu vaccine for patients. This may be done differently to how it has been done in the past.

If you have any questions regarding flu vaccinations please contact the practice via this website using our ‘Reception and Enquiries’ section from the home page.

The number of people eligible to receive the flu vaccine on the NHS this year has increased, and it is important that eligible patients get the flu vaccination. This is particularly important for those in at risk groups because flu can cause severe complications. Vaccination clinics will begin towards the end of September/ early October in various stages for different cohorts, with those in at risk groups prioritised.

Important notice from NHS England regarding Flu vaccination for 50-64s

Please note that people in the 50-64-year old age group will not be vaccinated until November and December, providing there is sufficient vaccine, and no appointments will be offered for this age group until then. This is to ensure that those who are most at risk are vaccinated first. If you are 50-64 and you are in one of the other groups which is eligible for the flu vaccination, for example you have a health condition which puts you at risk from the flu, you will be invited earlier.
